The Art of the Heart project aims to bring art, culture, and solidarity closer together, in an initiative that transforms the lives of elderly people and those in situations of social or health vulnerability. Since its creation, the project has brought music, painting, and other forms of artistic expression to nursing homes, senior citizen groups, hospitals, and social projects, spreading joy and promoting cultural diffusion.

Arte do Coração (Art of the Heart) is another project from the Lumiarte Institute that reflects its commitment to inclusion and social care. With a focus on democratizing access to art, the project acts as a bridge between local artists and the community, providing accessibility to spaces where culture is practically nonexistent.
In institutions that care for the elderly, music rekindles memories and awakens dormant emotions, as studies indicate that listening to music can be beneficial for seniors with neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's. Furthermore, cultural activities promote integration and exchange between different generations, strengthening the sense of belonging and community.

In the case of hospital settings and social projects, artistic performances help reduce stress, improve speech and cognitive skills, and increase social activity. These experiences allow everyone the opportunity to experience art in an inclusive way, reinforcing the transformative role of culture.
