SOUNDS FROM THE INTERIOR
Strengthening local tradition and culture

The Sounds of the Interior project is an ongoing cultural initiative dedicated to promoting and valuing Brazilian popular music. With a different approach each year, the project presents a wide variety of musical ensembles, highlighting instruments such as the viola and accordion, and exploring a repertoire that ranges from classics of popular song to traditional works from various regions of Brazil.

The Sons do Interior (Sounds of the Interior) performances take place periodically in various cities and cultural spaces, such as theaters, community centers, and public squares, reinforcing the Lumiarte Institute's commitment to democratizing access to culture. By bringing regional popular music to new audiences, the project fosters an authentic connection with the rich musical heritage of the Brazilian countryside.
Beyond its artistic impact, Sons do Interior stands out for its encouragement of cultural exchange between musicians of different generations and regions. Artists at different stages of their careers have the opportunity to exchange experiences, techniques, and life lessons, enriching both the participants and the audience. This intergenerational dialogue strengthens regional and instrumental music, creating an environment of mutual learning.

Through systematic and long-term work, the project aims to ensure that this musical heritage continues to occupy its place in popular taste, contributing to the strengthening of local culture.
